Mormons

The Mormons began in the 1820's with Joseph Smith in upstate New York. After he died everyone followed Brigham Young to Utah around 1844. Joseph Smith was born to a family of New England farmers and through a sequence of time, moves to New York and visitation of angels established their doctrine.
Brigham Young instituted a policy of excluding most people of black African descent from participation in temple ceremonies. These practices continued in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) until September 30, 1978, when the highest bodies of church leadership lifted the ban after stating they had received a revelation. From 1852 to 1890, Mormons took multiple wives. Much to be said with their relationship with Native Americans. More later:
For Readers:

There are many more books. Mormons are a very interesting group
of people. They believe they are chosen which I ascribe to religious
arrogance for any group. You should read as much as you can on
the subject because we have a candidate for president of our country in
Willard "Mitt" Romney.
