Every now and again, I stumble upon a lecture that is life changing. Such was the case
with Professor Emeritus, Jelle Zeillinga DeBoer. He has written a book entitled, Stories
In Stone: How Geology Influenced Connecticut History and culture.

I learned that Connecticut once had tropical climates and an ice age. All that could be
determined by reading the lines in rock formations. You heard it right. Not the lines in
trees but the lines in rocks.

Connecticut is rich in gold and cobalt and other unique features. The lecture got me
thinking about my environment and it's cultural and natural history.

The book is Stories in Stone by Jelle Zeillinga DeBoer. The author was at our store

itself is therapy. It has a very smooth blue cover. If you slide your hand across, you
feel calming effects immediately.

P.S. I am attesting to the fact, that once you get started, you can

From the time of her birth, Jayanti tamm was declared the chose disciple in the

My son is 21. Not too long ago, it seems, he was chauffeured
Around in a Perego stroller.

I am ashamed to admit that in those days, I was totally
status conscious. Our son rode the sidewalks in an Italian
stroller and we rode the streets in a pale blue Saab. Nothing
American made for us in those days.

Our child is of mixed culture, so he was very fair and people
used to ask if I was his nanny.

Only now do I get that I did Not measure up to the stroller or
the culture. Perhaps I did Not appear to people the way I imagined.

The whole point to all of this status stuff is that you don't want to
measure up, you want approval for moving ahead of the pack.
Well, don't we? Okay, don't leave me out here alone. I am trying to be
honest with you.

I shopped at fabulous boutiques for him across the country.
These days he says I dressed him like an idiot. He in no way
Appreciates how exhausting keeping up appearances was.

The best daycare, exposure to the arts and books, living in a
home surrounded by fine things and antiques has given way
to x-box and other sophisticated technology.

Although those days are behind me, I really loved them. It
was a tribute to what my womb could produce. Great DNA
to be cultivated.

Well, I will tell you, I think it is fun that mothers these days,
twenty years later have not dropped the concept.

On February 3, 2009, President Obama and Michelle Obama visited the
Capital City Public Charter School in Northwest Washington. They read
The Moon Over Star. The book was read to second graders. Written by
children's author, Diana Hutts Aston. The Moon over star was released
on October 16, 2008.
